It's Only Hair

It's trendy to be bald.

Men shave off their hair when they realize that their hairline is receding or when the top of their heads begin to burn, on summer days. The process of balding is a thing of the past. You either are, or, are not.. bald. It is claimed that bald men are more virile than those that have hair. I don't know. When a man having a head of hair, ages..it is said that when he grays, he is distinguished. He takes on a new air of 'accomplishment.' He demands respect, as a result of all which he has been through. Enough said; men rock.

I am contemplating coloring my hair, tomorrow. I am tired of the washed out blond color. The gray has sprouted over night and has taken over. Like soldiers, in a midnight maneuver, the grays have taken over my hairline and have made it theirs! I looked in the bathroom mirror this morning and almost howled. When did these gray hairs infiltrate my scalp?! I did not look distinguished! I did not rock! I looked awful. You are all so kind, presuming that I am exaggerating..but I'm not! This is what women must face, as they age. I am thinking of going back to the brunette color that I was born [with].

But I hesitate, because, gray will continue to sprout and most likely than not, look worse than it does now. Oh, brother! I mean, how often can I color my hair? and why should I? Huh? Did I just ask that?!Maybe, I should leave it alone. My opinion is that by leaving it alone, I will look older than I feel. Do I want that? Hell, no! Men hardly ever consider dying their hair, so that they do not look older 'than they feel'. It's a plus for them, to appear old.

With aging and gray hairs, comes acknowledgment of having endured, and, having survived! They are proud to be physically fit and gray! e.g. "Yes, I am 58 years old. I have a beautiful wife and four grown children. I have served in the military. I worked as a mechanic in my uncle's shop, and now, I am the owner of Auto World. I have struggled and succeeded.. and I have the GRAYS to prove it!!" Would a woman EVER say such a thing?!! No way!!

What they would say is.."Yes, I am well accomplished..and yet, I am still young! heheheh." Women do not give their age, unless they are hooked up to a lie-detector!! They LIKE looking young. Sure, some men (and women, too) may call this "deception,"however..if it makes me feel better, about myself..who cares? That's it..I've convinced myself..tomorrow, I'm coloring my hair!!
