Shape-Ups or Downs

I am not part of the lawsuit against Shape-Ups, by Skechers. In my world, they rank at #1.

I want to be a character witness for the defense! My Skechers Shape-Ups have NEVER let me down.

They have  been truthful in their claim to strengthen  and tighten stomach  and leg muscles ; they have not deceived me. Upon arising each morning, I put them on and walk around in my kitchen, wearing my jammies and robe. It makes for a silly sight, but I don't care. I make the morning coffee, open the verticals, turn on my favorite 'morning show' on TV; all in the comfort of my Shape-Ups!

Several years ago, I was intrigued, as were many others by the advertisements and commercials that showcased the new sneaker by Sketchers, called Shape-Ups. The Australian based footwear company was promoting their new product, with claims that you would not need to visit the Gym, to attain the same results. Their spokesperson at the time was model, Brooke Burke. The commercial depicted her walking about, in town, wearing her sneakers and looking damn good. I did not purchase Shape-Ups to look damn good. I did, however, buy them, to relieve my knee pain.

At my orthopedist office, one day, I noticed the receptionist was wearing a strange-looking pair of shoes. They were sneakers in a 'MaryJane' style, and their bottoms were curved! When I asked her about her new footwear, she raved about how pleased she was with them. Her knees no longer hurt! Hmmm. This could be for me and my osteoarthritis. Based solely on her recommendation, I went to the Skechers Store at Roosevelt Field and for $100+ bought myself a pair. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST WEAR!!

Since then, I kid you not, I have acquired 4 pairs of different style sneakers, 2 pairs of Shape-Ups boots, and 2 pairs of Tone-Ups (flip flops). I have written two letters to the corporation praising their sneakers and I have openly praised their positive effect, upon MY life, on my Facebook page.  Naturally, inquiring minds wanted to know, .."So..Krissy..how much weight have you lost while wearing your new sneakers?" I did not mind telling them that I have not lost any weight, but I have gained pain-free days! Wearing Skechers Shape-Ups have not made me look like Kim Kardashian (their new spokesperson), but it has given me the confidence to walk like she does..pain-free.
