Special Astronomy Guest Speaker

Astronomy club meeting and author Andrew Kessler discussing his book about the Mars Phoenix Mission.

Please join the Amateur Observers' Society of NY at Hofstra University's Monroe Lecture Hall, bldg 62 on California Ave, Sunday, Sept 9 from 3 to 4pm when author Andrew Kessler will be speaking about his adventures while working with NASA during the Mars Phoenix mission and the book he wrote to tell us all about it-Martian Summer: Robot Arms, Cowboy Space-men and My 90 Days with the Phoenix Mars Mission (which just came out in paperback).

Directions and a map are here http://www.aosny.org/MeetingSchedule.htm
In the summer of 2008, Andrew spent three months living and working in
mission control during the Mars Phoenix expedition, along with 130 top NASA
scientists and engineers, becoming the first outsider ever granted unfettered
access to such an event. We are extremely fortunate to have him visit us. If you
wish to purchase his book beforehand, he will sign them. They will not be for
sale at the meeting. His talk will begin at 3, preceded by our regular club
business starting at 1:15pm.
This meeting is free to everyone and we look forward to seeing you.
It would help us a lot if you would be so kind as to click here,

and register that you will attend. It is not required but we want to ensure that
the room will be large enough. Your cooperation is greatly
appreciated.
