It's my favorite time of the year and it's not even my birthday.
Being a TV addict, what month is more exciting then May? The Networks announce their Up-fronts and in case you don’t know what that means, it’s the time when NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS and The CW announce which of your favorite shows will be back and what new exciting programming we have to look forward to come the fall.
NBC has been struggling the past few years in the ratings and has tried many ways to give it the jolt it needs to rise from the ashes once again.

I'm not sure if this year will be the year the peacock get its 'jolt' but I really loved the 'Revolution' trailer which comes from the mind of J.J. Abrams who created Lost.
The show really has a mystery vibe to it as it fast forwards 15 years after a black out when the government is overthrown and the people must survive not just the elements but each other. Another solid trailer was 'The New Normal' which gives a fun twist on the new type of American families. Nene Leakes of the Real Housewives franchise will also guest star and I personally feel she will give the show an upper hand that many other comedies may not have like its lead in 'Go On".
Matthew Perry may be the star of 'Go On' but ever since his 'Friends' days he has not really seen much success having a handful of failed pilots and this show does not look like it will be any different.
Wednesday's new comedy block isn't much to write home about and is a far cry from the good old comedy days when 'Frasier', 'Will and Grace' and 'Friends' reigned supreme. 'Animal Practice', which may be the better of the two still leaves a lot to be desired.
The best thing about this trailer was the monkey and how long can that really last? Justin Kirk stars as a doctor who cares more about animals then people. The show could have moments of hysterical antics but overall NBC missed the mark and it gets worse at the 8:30 slot.
'Guys with Kids' focuses on three dads of difference lifestyles caring for their babies. Jimmy Fallon is the Executive producer, which stars 'Soprano' actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The show just does not at all strike a cord of funny to me. It misses the mark and leaves me wondering if this was the best out there?
Later that night NBC shows a new drama called 'Chicago Fire' which has a 'Third Watch'/'Southland' feel to it (both of which aired on NBC). The trailer looked solid and has the backing of Dick Wolf the brain behind the Law and Order franchise, which could only help things.
To watch any of the trailers of the new shows on NBC you can log onto their official website and view the trailers and tell me what you think! I'll be back to give my take on the other networks and their new fall shows.
