Why am I welcoming you to astronomy? Astronomy is the wonderful science that deals with everything that is beyond our atmosphere, and, through this blog, I am going to endeavor to take you on a periodic journey of exploration into that celestial sphere that surrounds us.
I've discovered over the years that most people are closet astronomers. What I mean is that they like looking up at the sky, but they really don't understand most of what they see or understand why it happens or what it means.
Don't worry, we won't be delving into massive equations and you won't need expensive equipment either. In fact, the easiest way to start is to do just as the ancient people did: look up with only your eyes. There may be some homework though. ;-)
