Cops Hunting East Meadow Armed Robber

Nassau County Police are searching for witnesses to an East Meadow deli robbery involving a gun.

Detectives said an unknown man, armed with a handgun, held up Route 24 Deli in East Meadow Friday morning. The man demanded money from a clerk, who cooperated and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, cops said. The subject fled east on foot down Coolidge Drive.

Another employee was present at the time of the robbery. No one was reportedly injured.

The incident happened at 12 a.m. Friday.

Police described the subject as a white man, 5' 8"-9" tall, and about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, beige pants, and black shoes at the time of the robbery.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
