Cops: Man Deposited Check, Took Money Out of Fake Account

Nassau County Police released surveillance photos of a man they said deposited a fake check and later withdrew money from a fraudulent bank account.

Police said the subject deposited a fraudulent check into a bank account on May 12. The man later withdrew the same amount of money using a fake ATM card at TD Bank in East Meadow, cops said. The theft totaled $3,000, police said.

As they continue their search, detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
