Cops: Mother Went to Work, Left 3 Children Home Alone

Woman was walking home from Hicksville when police found three children alone in her New Cassel home, cops said.

A woman faces child endangerment charges after she left her young children home alone so she could go to work, according to Nassau County Police.

Officers were called to the New Cassel home after receiving a call about children left home alone, police said. Responding officers entered the home and found three children, ages two, five, and six, inside the home unsupervised, cops said.

The children’s mother, Ebony Robinson, 23, was found walking home from work in Hicksville and taken into custody, cops said. She was located more than two miles from her home, police said.

The incident happened at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.

The children were brought to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and later released to Child Protective Services, cops said. None of the children were reportedly injured.

Robinson was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
