Cops: Woman Wakes Up to Teen Burglar in Bedroom
Elmont woman woke up to teenager trying to open a suitcase on her floor, police said.

An Elmont woman woke up to a teenager in her bedroom trying to burglarize her home, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Jarrell Green, 17, of Elmont, broke into a Freeman Avenue home by cutting the screen of a kitchen window. Once inside, Green went to a second floor bedroom where a 22-year-old woman was asleep, cops said.
The woman heard a noise and opened her eyes to discover Green in her room trying to open a suitcase on the floor, police said. Green then stood up, made eye contact with the woman, and fled the house without taking anything, cops said.

The incident happened at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
Fourth Precinct officers identified Green as the subject and located him in front of his home Thursday. Green was charged with second-degree burglary and will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
