Curran To NHL: Let The Isles Play At Nassau Coliseum
The Nassau County Executive penned a letter to the head of the NHL asking that the Isles play all their home games at the Coliseum.

With just one season left before the Islanders are expected to move into their new arena at Belmont, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran is asking the NHL to let the team play all its games this season at Nassau Coliseum.
The 2020-21 season is expected to be the Islanders' last before moving to Belmont. Currently, the Islanders split their home games between the Coliseum and the Barclays Center. But Curran penned a letter to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman asking that the Isles be allowed to stick to the Coliseum ice.
“It' s what the fans want. It's what the players want. And, recent evidence has been clear that when Isles play home games on Long Island, they win," Curran said. "Commissioner Bettman: Let us 'Rock The Barn' for one more full and final year!”

The Islanders are already playing more games at the Coliseum than initially planned. Under the original agreement, the Isles were scheduled for 21 home games at the Coliseum last season, and then Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that would increase to 28.
Curran said she has long been trying to get more Islanders games at the Coliseum. Last year, she successfully lobbied to have the NHL playoff games held at the Coliseum.
