East Meadow, Clarke High Schools Ranked Among Nation's Best
Two East Meadow schools make Newsweek's rankings.

Both East Meadow High School and W. T. Clarke High School have been named two of the best high schools in the nation, ranking No. 233 and 317, respectively, on Newsweek’s 2014 list of America’s Top High Schools.
More than 14,000 schools nationwide were considered in the annual ranking.

The prestigious ranking places both high schools in the top 2 percent nationally. In addition, the East Meadow School District’s high schools are also two of only eight Nassau County schools to make the top 500 list.
Newsweek ranks schools based on their college enrollment, graduation rate, standardized test scores, and other factors.

“The East Meadow School District is proud to have both of its high schools recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Top High Schools,” said Superintendent Louis DeAngelo.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our teaching staff, which I believe is second to none.
