East Meadow Family Falls Ill From High Levels Of Carbon Monoxide: Cops

EAST MEADOW, NY — Several people were taken to a hospital Monday night due to high levels of carbon monoxide in their East Meadow home, authorities said.

Officers responded to a home on Buchanan Road and assisted nine injured residents, just before 9:30 p.m.

The East Meadow Fire Department transported the residents to a local hospital for treatment and observation.

With the clocks changed over the weekend, the Nassau County police remind people to check the change the batteries in the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
