East Meadow School Budget Vote, Board Election Tuesday

What you need to know.

East Meadow residents will head to the polls Tuesday to vote on the proposed 2015-16 school budget and elect school board candidates.

The proposed budget of $192,852,723 is a .90 percent spending increase over the current year and includes a 2.13 percent hike in the school tax levy.

In addition to the proposed budget, incumbents Brian O’Flaherty and Walter Skinner are challenged by Adam Sackowitz and Melissa Tell, respectively, for their seats on the Board of Education.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Barnum Woods, Bowling Green, George McVey, Meadowbrook and Parkway Schools.
