Voters Easily Approve East Meadow School Budget
East Meadow residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

East Meadow residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.
The $195.7 million budget was approved by a margin of 2,173 to 436. The budget is a 0.03 percent spending decrease over the current year and it comes with a 0.04 percent hike in the school tax levy.
Joseph Parisi and Marcee Rubenstein, who ran unopposed, were elected to the East Meadow Board of Education. In addition challenger Matthew G. Melnick beat out incumbent Jeffrey Rosenking 1,581 to 847.
