East Meadow School Budget Vote, Trustee Election Tuesday

Here's what you need to know before heading to the polls.

East Meadow residents will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for a proposed school budget and to elect school board trustees.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at all local Elementary Schools.

The East Meadow Board of Education is proposing a budget of $195,794,375 for 2016-17. That represents a 0.03 percent spending decrease over the current year with a 0.04 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Voters will also elect school board trustees on Tuesday.

Incumbent Joseph Parisi and Marcee Rubenstein will both be running unopposed while incumbent Jeffrey Rosenking will be running against Matthew Melnick. All three seats are for three-year terms.
