Long Island Kosher BBQ Championship

Fairway Market will host the first annual Long Island Kosher Barbeque Championship on June 10 at Temple Beth Torah, located at 243 Cantiague Rock Road in Westbury, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event is sanctioned by the ASBEE World Kosher Barbeque Championship in Memphis, Tennessee and is open to everyone without charge. A contest featuring up to 25 teams from across the country will compete in a variety of categories, including best beans, most original team name, best booth decoration, best ribs, and best brisket, among others, according to a statement from the event’s organizers.

There will be a Kiddie Corral for children, which will include slides, bounce houses, balloon artists, face painting and a petting zoo. Additionally, the BBQ will also have music, contests and games.
