Senior at Sacred Heart Academy jump-starts a journalist career

Jovanna Jordain, a senior at Sacred Heart Academy, jump-started her future career through FirstTake, an annual journalism workshop for teens. Organized by the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ), the 8-week program provided a select group of New York’s brightest students with in-depth instruction on production and communication skills. Jovanna had access to the same software and tools used by industry professionals. The experience allowed Jovanna to produce a video newscast in a television studio and publish articles through the NYABJ.
