Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society Meeting & Presentation “Deadman’s Curve” This Thursday in Bethpage

The Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society will be meeting at 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2013. A special presentation will be made by Howard Kroplick and Al Velocci on the Motor Parkway's "Deadman's Curve" and plans to restore it.. Note the new meeting location: Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Avenue. The meeting is open to the public. Please bring your friends and family.

The most dramatic curve in the very curvy 44-mile Long Island Motor Parkway was the almost 90-degree turn south of Hermann Street in Bethpage. Remnants of the "Deadman's Curve" can still be found today as seen in these "Then & Now" images on VanderbiltCupRaces.com .

 Enjoy,

 Howard Kroplick
