Long Island Serial Gas Station Robber Strikes Again

A man who robbed a Westbury gas station at gunpoint Wednesday night is believed to be the serial robber who has struck at more than a dozen gas stations across Long Island since early August, police said.

In the latest robbery, the man entered the Mobil station located at 79 Old Country Road at about 10:38 p.m. Wednesday armed with a black semi-automatic handgun that was covered with a green cloth, police said. He demanded money from a male clerk, who complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber fled on foot westbound onto Myrtle Avenue, police said. No injuries were reported.

The robber is described as black, 5-foot-8, in his 20s, with brown eyes, a dark complexion and a thin build. In the latest robbery, he was wearing blue jeans, a black short sleeve T-shirt, a blue and white bucket hat and black and white sneakers.

He is believed to have also robbed the following 14 gas stations:

• Aug. 19- Mobil, 5991 Expressway Drive North, Holbrook
• Aug. 19- Mobil, 2033 Middle Country Road, Centereach
• Aug 19- Citgo, 1050 Osborne Avenue (corner of Route 58), Riverhead
• Aug. 25- Advanced Gas Station, 687 Route 109, West Babylon
• Aug. 29- 10:49 p.m., BP Gas, 3914 Sunrise Highway, Seaford
• Aug. 30- Valero Gas Station, 490 Broadway, Amityville
• Sept. 4- Mobil, 1194 Portion Road, Holtsville
