Man Burglarized 2 Uniondale Stores: Police
The man was caught stealing hundreds from a beauty salon after he burglarized a tax preparation shop in December, police say.

UNIONDALE, NY — A Uniondale man was arrested after Nassau police said he broke into two businesses over the span of two months.
Officers responded to Rosy’s Beauty Salon, at 678 Jerusalem Ave., Uniondale, around 3 a.m. Sunday and saw broken glass near the front door, police said. Officers found Jose Portillo Sandoval, 36, inside the salon and trying to run away, police said. Sandoval was intercepted by officers and arrested without further issue, police said. Officers recovered $558 from him, police said.
Police said Sandoval was also responsible for a burglary at Liberty Tax, at 536 Uniondale Ave., Uniondale, on Dec. 10.

Sandoval was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief. His arraignment was scheduled for Sunday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
