Man Charged In Altercation That Sent Woman, Child To Hospital: Police

EAST MEADOW, NY — A 37-year-old man is under arrest for a domestic disturbance that took place on March 23 in East Meadow.

Christopher Alvarado was charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder and endangering the welfare of a child.

Alvarado is in stable condition at a local hospital from serious self-inflicted injuries, police said.

He was arraigned at his bedside on Sunday.

When detectives arrived on the scene after the initial 911 call, a 38-year-old female was found with multiple stab wounds and an 18-month-old female had a laceration to her arm.

The infant was been treated and released to family members, police said. The adult victim is listed in stable condition from her injuries.
