Man Charged with DWAI After Causing Multiple Accidents on the Southern State: Police

BREAKING: The man was driving without a license and high, police said.

An East Meadow man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after causing multiple accidents on the Southern State Parkway Wednesday, police said.

According to state police, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Bradley Garner, 33, was driving his 2004 Honda Odyssey on the Southern State Parkway in the Town of Hempstead. Police say Garner was involved in numerous motor vehicle accidents, from which he fled the scene. After his vehicle became disabled, said police, Garner attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody by the New York State Police shortly after.

Garner was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
