Man Faces Sexual Abuse Charges For Touching Girl In Store: Police
Heriberto Colon is accused of touching a 12-year-old girl at a Dollar Tree, Nassau police say.
EAST MEADOW, NY — A 40-year-old is charged with sexual abuse for inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl, Nassau police said.
Heriberto Colon, of Franklin Square, was taken into custody on Sept. 19 for a sexual crime that same day, detectives said.
Colon was at the Dollar Tree on Hempstead Turnpike, where he is accused of touching the girl multiple times as she was standing in the candy aisle, detectives said.

Colon was placed in custody at his home without incident, according to police.
He faces three counts of first-degree sexual abuse-- sexual contact with a person less than 13 years old, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Colon is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in Hempstead.
