No Threat From Man Who Tried To Grab Girl: Police

Police say an "extensive investigation" found there was no threat to the community, and no criminality in the incident.

WESTBURY, NY — Nassau County police are seeking the public's help to find a man who tried to grab a young girl outside of a church in Westbury on Sunday.

According to police, a 5-year-old girl was with her parent at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, at 101 Maple Avenue, just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The girl wandered away from her parent and was approached by a man who grabbed her arm multiple times and attempted to pull him with her.

The girl managed to break away from the man and ran back to her parent to tell them what happened.

The man was was white, in his 50s or early 60s and walked with a slight limp. He was last seen getting into a black car with two other women and driving away.

No one was hurt, and police are investigating.
