Officer Hurt During Encounter With Belligerent Man In Nassau: Police
Joshua Vallejo, who was intoxicated, became violent at a restaurant Friday night, police said.

EAST MEADOW, NY — A Freeport man was arrested for a Friday night disturbance in East Meadow.
Officers were flagged down at 8 p.m. for an incident at Qdoba Mexican restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike.
Upon arrival, police were told that Joshua Vallejo, 42, was intoxicated and refused to leave, authorities said.

An officer required medical attention for an injury to his knee.
Vallejo became violent and combative, but was ultimately arrested and brought to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment, police said.

Vallejo is charged with second-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration. Additionally, police said, he is charged with an active warrant from an incident on Sept. 3.
He was expected to be arraigned on Saturday.
