Police Search For Man Accused Of Stealing Donations From Local Church: PD

NCPD says a man forcibly opened the donation boxes.

EAST MEADOW, NY — Nassau County police are seeking the public's help with information regarding a criminal mischief and larceny that occurred at a local church on Monday.

Officers responded to St. Raphael's Parish on Newbridge Road for a larceny report of an incident that took place at 4:30 p.m. on May 11, police said.

According to police, it was determined that an unknown man wearing black pants, a black shirt, and a tan jacket, entered the parish and approached the donation boxes.

The man used a pants hanger to force open the locked donation boxes and removed approximately $100, police said. He then fled on foot eastbound on Newbridge Ave., NCPD said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911 – all callers will be anonymous, police said.
