Spring 2015 Jewelry Trends

Spring 2015 Jewelry Trends

Spring is around the corner — March 20, to be exact. As our thoughts wander to warming temperatures and blooming flora, the jewelry world is already abuzz about spring 2015 jewelry trends. Here’s what’s going to be hot this spring, according to Jennifer Heebner, senior editor of jckonline.com.

’60s and ’70s retro. It’s the Age of Aquarius all over again, at least on the spring runways. This year, indulge your inner bohemian with 1960s and 1970s-inspired jewelry. Think geometric shapes like circles with beads, feathers, and fringe.

Bring on the color! What says spring better than bursts of brilliant color? Seen on the spring and pre-fall runways were lots of colorful patterns and color combinations, so look to your jewelry to complement your outfits with mosaics of color, playful hues, rainbows, or single pops of color to highlight one in a pattern.

Colored diamonds. You’ve probably seen TV commercials promoting fancy colored diamonds, and the advertising seems to be working. Fancy colored diamonds continue to rise in popularity into 2015. Whether you can afford natural or color-treated, anytime is the season to wear your fancy colored diamonds.

Ear climbers. If you’re into ear climbers — usually stud or stud-and-hook combination pieces that snake up the ear lobe — you’ll be happy to hear that they’ll be in this spring. More good news: Volume manufacturers are making them more affordable, too.

Layered necklaces. The gorgeous layered necklaces in your jewelry box are still in style this spring. If you don’t have any yet, look for multi-strand necklaces or singles layered with others.

Leather bracelets with charms. The hot new thing for spring is leather wrap bracelets with dangling charms. Like Pandora charms bracelets, these are ideal for add-ons and gifting, so start your collection today.

Metal statement bracelets. If you’re a metal girl (or guy), rock on this spring with big and bold metal statement bracelets. They pair well with the minimalist-inspired fashions still in the market, and the metal medium allows designers to get artful and creative with carved effects, textures, finishes, and volume. And with metal’s declining prices, they’re more affordable than ever.

Purples, pinks, and reds. Pantone announced its 2015 Color of the Year is Marsala. To complement this muddy-red color, think pink, purple, and red in stone choices to color-block beautifully with this clay-brown hue.

Vintage is still in. The Downton Abbey effect is still in play in 2015 with both vintage and vintage-inspired jewelry pieces. If this look is your cup of tea, visit pawn shops and estate sales for gorgeous and one-of-a-kind pieces.
