East Meadow Baseball and Softball Celebrate Successful Season
The kids took home plenty of trophies from tournament play.
The 2011 season proved to be one of the best ever for the kids and coaches from the East Meadow Baseball Softball Association.
This year East Meadow teams (ages 10-16) entered in the Williamsport Tournaments, won five Long Island District 32 championships and two New York State Section 6 championships.
The following is a list of the winning teams.

Although they had a terrific season by winning four tournaments with a 22 and 9 won-loss record, the boys 11 and under team coached by John DeMasi, Craig Euler and Dave Roldan were unable to pull out the District 32 championship.
The 10-year-old boys team won their District 32 championship with a 7 win/1 loss record. After being down 6-0 late in the championship game, the boys came back to tie the game and get a walk-off win by scoring the winning run in extra innings on a close play at the plate.
Not to be outdone, the 10-year-old girls team (dubbed “The Comeback Kids”) also won their District 32 championship by mounting a comeback in the bottom of the last inning after trailing 6-0 early in the game.
The multiple championships were a fitting tribute for Ed Bergman who has just stepped down after four years as Commissioner and over sixteen years serving in various capacities within the Association.
“I am extremely pleased that our East Meadow teams had such a successful year and had a lot of fun while doing so," Bergmann said. "Seeing our boys and girls enjoying the game and having fun was as important as winning."
