Walk to Defeat ALS Set for Saturday
In its 14th year, the walk is prepared for its biggest year ever thanks to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Eisenhower Park will host the 14th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS this weekend.
The walk, set for Saturday at 10:30 a.m., draws hundreds of teams and thousands of participants to raise money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
This year will be the biggest yet thanks to the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The social media campaign raised millions in a matter of months for the cause.

Long Island’s edition of the walk has seen a 300 percent increase in new team registration which will bring an expected 100 percent increase in patient participation, according to ALS Greater New York chapter.

All proceeds from Saturday will go to The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter, which aids patients and families on Long Island and in New York City, Westchester, Hudson Valley, and Northern and Central New Jersey.
