WWII Vet Levittown Resident Celebrates 100th Birthday at The Bristal

Philip Kovar a resident of The Bristal Assisted Living Community at East Meadow celebrated his 100th birthday with family members, friends and fellow Bristal residents at The Bristal at East Meadow on June 10th

Mr. Kovar was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx. A World War Two Veteran, he and his wife Edith purchased a home in The Westbrook neighborhood of Levittown where they lived for 67 years raising their three children; Phyllis, Stuart and Scott.

He worked as a medical supply salesman, auto mechanic, managed three gas stations, warehouse manager, and worked for his son-in-law in the family’s appliance store business. After he retired he volunteered for five years at the Levittown Montessori School for the 8th graders and Pre- schoolers. Mr. Kovar has resided at the Bristal at East Meadow since June of 2022.
