10th Annual McNamara Charity Golf Outing Will Benefit Veterans

All proceeds will benefit veterans and their families through multiple veteran charities.

FARMINGDALE, NY — The 10th annual McNamara Charity Golf Outing is scheduled for Monday, August 19 at Bethpage State Park Golf Course.

The outing will benefit veterans and their families, as proceeds will go directly to these veterans charities: Paws of War, The Wounded Warrior Project, Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation, The Independence Fund, and Local Veterans.

  • 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Registration and Breakfast
  • 12 p.m.: Welcome & Shotgun Start
  • Lunch is on the course at the turn
  • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Cocktail Hour
  • 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Dinner

"As an Air Force veteran from Desert Storm as well as many of my family having served this noble country, I wanted to make a difference in peoples' lives for the better, especially those who have sacrificed so much," Chris McNamara, the organizer, told Patch via email. "I can’t believe it’s been 10 years! Every year it has gotten bigger and we’ve been able to help more veterans and their families. I am so looking forward to the event with the laughs, as well as the tears."

Individual golfers pay $325, foursomes pay $1,200, and active duty, veterans and first responders pay $275. The price includes dinner.

For those only interested in the cocktail hour and dinner, the price is $175 per person and $125 for active duty, veterans and first responders.
