2 Concerts Coming To American Airpower Museum Of Long Island

FARMINGDALE, NY — Two concerts featuring popular patriotic music from the American Airpower Museum Brass Band are coming to the museum in Farmingdale, according to a news release.

The first concert, which is free to the public, is scheduled for May 17. The brass band will play traditional Americana, pop and show tunes. Donations are appreciated and welcomed, the museum wrote. Pre-registration and tickets are not required. Refreshments will be served, and raffles sold for a Cockpit USA leather flight jacket.

The concert is slated for 7 to 9 p.m. at American Airpower Museum, Hangar 3, at 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale. Concertgoers were urged to bring lawn chairs for outside hangar seating if weather allows.

The Big Band-era concert is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. June 17 at the museum's first-ever "Keep ‘Em Flying" Hangar Dance.

"You’ll hear nostalgic sounds of Big Band melodies from the 1940s, along with more contemporary danceable tunes, while surrounded by iconic World War II bombers and fighters!" the museum wrote.

Tickets to the "Keep ‘Em Flying" Hangar Dance are $25 per person. There will be refreshments and a raffle for a second USA leather flight jacket from Cockpit USA.

For tickets, people can call 631-293-6398, visit the AAM Gift Shop on Wednesdays through Sundays between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., or check out the American Airpower Museum website.

The AAM, a non-profit educational foundation, relies on guests, visitors and fans for their support during fundraising events.

"Please support AAM’s mission to honor veterans and preserve military aviation history, by helping maintain their iconic aircraft and Keep ‘Em Flying," the museum wrote. "We expect a sellout for June 17, so please purchase your tickets ASAP. Of course, we also look forward to seeing you at our FREE May 17 concert. Don’t miss both Brass Band spectaculars!"
