Change your Furnace Filter

Changing your filter every few months, or more often if you have pets, can make sure your furnace is working efficiently, which can also help you save on your monthly utility bills.

Defrost Your Freezer

Ice buildup on the sides of your freezer makes it less effective and increases your electrical bill. Every so often, turn it off, unplug it and let it defrost. Now is also a good time to wipe everything clean, including ice trays and drawers.

Vacuum Your Dryer's Exhaust Duct

Clear dust and lint from your the exhaust duct behind your dryer by vacuuming it at least once a year. You’ll need to disconnect the dryer to do this, but a clean duct will lead to a more effective dryer and make sure its not a fire hazard.
