92-Year-Old Nassau Woman Hit, Killed By Car
Police say a car backed out of a parking spot and hit her. The investigation is ongoing.
A 92-year-old woman was killed after a car backed out of a parking spot and hit her in Farmingdale Wednesday morning.
According to police, Lorraine Richter, 92, of Bethpage, was walking in the rear lot of 326 Main St. at 10:30 a.m. when she was hit by a 2012 Jeep Wrangler that was backing out of a parking spot. She was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor at 11:06 a.m.
A brake and safety inspection was done on the Jeep at the scene. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
