FARMINGDALE, NY — A firefighter suffered minor injuries after a house fire in Farmingdale on Wednesday morning, fire marshals said.
Nassau County Fire Marshal's office said the Farmingdale Fire Department was dispatched to a two-story home on Melville Road at approximately 8:06 a.m.
The fire was brought under control within approximately one hour with about 50 firefighters on scene, fire marshals said.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Bethpage, North Amityville, Hicksville, Levittown, South Farmingdale, East Farmingdale, Carle Place, and Jericho Fire Departments – all under the command of Chief Tortoso, fire marshals said.
According to fire marshals, there were no occupants in the home at the time of the fire, and the one firefighter was evaluated at the scene.
