Driver Using Red And Blue Lights, Sirens Arrested After South Farmingdale Crash, Police Say

NCPD says a man was driving aggressively with lights and sirens before crashing into a car.

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY — A man was arrested after aggressively operating his vehicle and activating flashing red and blue lights in South Farmingdale before crashing into another car, police said.

Nassau County police said 56-year-old Thomas Luckscheiter was driving a 2023 Dodge Ram at the intersection of Linden Avenue and Main Street at approximately 10:35 p.m. on May 28.

Luckscheiter, of South Farmingdale, activated flashing red and blue lights and used multiple different sirens while driving in an "aggressive manner," NCPD said.

Police said as a result, he struck a 2009 Toyota Prius and then fled the scene. He was located and placed under arrest not long after.

Luckscheiter was charged with first-degree criminal impersonation, leaving the scene of an incident, and second-degree reckless endangerment, police said. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, June 15, NCPD said.
