• Pedestrian Dies In East Farmingdale Crash: Police (patch.com) — Residents in East Farmingdale should know that a woman was fatally struck while crossing Route 110 at Conklin Street on Saturday night, and police are still investigating. The driver, a 30-year-old Farmingdale man, was not injured, and his car was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the First Squad with information.
   

• Long Island's first annual potato fest to be held at Farmingdale State College (longislandpress.com) — Farmingdale residents can look forward to Long Island's first annual Potato Festival coming to Farmingdale State College's president's lawn Sept. 26–27, celebrating the region's farming roots. Expect dozens of potato-themed dishes from food trucks, live music, kids' activities, and historical displays highlighting Long Island's agricultural past and the college's origins as a farming school.
