FARMINGDALE, NY — A massive fire broke out at a building on Route 109 near Farmingdale and Lindenhurst Tuesday morning.

The East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company responded to 1110 Route 109 around 7:55 a.m. under the command of Chief of Department Joe Iuzzini to douse the flames.

The building that caught fire was Clean & Green Recycling Corp., which processes nonhazardous liquids, Newsday reported. According to what Joseph Scura, a spokesman for the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company Inc., told Newsday, it took about 30 minutes for the fire to be brought under control, and that the cause was a generator fire on top of a silo tank.

No injuries were reported. The Farmingdale Fire Department Rescue Squad and North Lindenhurst Fire Department helped out.
