Buses to Replace LIRR Trains on Ronkonkoma Line This Weekend

The trains will depart and end at the Farmingdale station.

For the next two weekends, buses will be replacing LIRR trains between Ronkonkoma and Hicksville due to track work and maintenance, according to the MTA.

Between 12:45 a.m. Saturday, August 13 until 12:45 a.m. Monday, August 15 – and again the following weekend, August 20-21. All trains will depart from and end at Farmingdale.

During these weekends, the MTA will be working on the grade crossing at Straight Path in Wyandanch.

Bethpage and Farmingdale customers will have normal train service in both directions throughout the weekend.

The Ronkonkoma Branch stops at Ronkonkoma, Central Islip, Brentwood, Deer Park, Wyandanch, Pinelawn, Farmingdale, Bethpage and Hicksville.

Ronkonkoma Branch service will be affected as follows:

Westbound:

  • Customers traveling from stations Ronkonkoma through Pinelawn will board buses to Hicksville, and transfer to train service to points west. Westbound buses will depart up to 44 minutes earlier than normal train time in order to connect with trains in Hicksville.
  • The 10:05 a.m., 11:05 a.m. and the 12:05 p.m. westbound trains from Ronkonkoma will originate instead at Farmingdale. Bus service will not be provided from Ronkonkoma to Hicksville for these three trains.

Eastbound:

  • Customers traveling to stations Pinelawn through Ronkonkoma will board buses at Hicksville. Please plan for up to 44 minutes of extra travel time.
  • The 4:32 p.m., 5:32 p.m. and 6:32 p.m. eastbound trains from Penn Station will end at Farmingdale. Bus service will not be provided from Hicksville to Ronkonkoma for these three trains.
