Daler’s Celebrate All-State Musicians

Farmingdale, NY (October 18, 2021)—Seven Farmingdale High School musicians have been selected by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) to perform in the 2021 All-State Music Conference. In addition, seven Dalers have been chosen as alternates. The All-State musicians are the top students from school music departments across New York. These musicians are among thousands of students who auditioned for the conference by participating in solo evaluations last spring. The All-State Conference will take place in Rochester from December 2-5.

“The Farmingdale School District is most proud of our All-State musicians and alternates,” commented Mr. Greg Warnokowski, Director of Fine Arts. “Only the most talented and accomplished performers are chosen, which is why our music department is so proud of these high achieving Dalers!”

All-State selected musicians include: Grace Lazicky (Vocal Jazz), Zach Carle (Mixed Chorus), Rebecca Kenjesky (Mixed Chorus), Katherine Marino (Mixed Chorus), Jaxon Rivera (Mixed Chorus), Matthew Bhasin (Symphonic Band), and Ben Hoffman (Symphony Orchestra & Mixed Chorus). Alternates selected are Trinity Babino (Mixed Chorus Alternate), Matthew Williams (Symphonic Band & Mixed Chorus Alternate), Molly Keena (Mixed Chorus Alternate), Brendan Gigante (Mixed Chorus Alternate), Juliana Young (Symphony Orchestra Alternate), Riley Leahy (Mixed Chorus Alternate), and Brian Stabile (Symphonic Band Alternate).

Farmingdale teachers who sponsored the musical efforts include Ms. Therese Mannino, Orchestra Director, Ms. Jessica Mischke, Chorus Director, and Ms. Gina Pellettiere, Wind Ensemble Director. Along with proud high school music staff members: Mr. Matthew DeMasi, Mr. Joseph Franzino, Mr. Ed Kozlowski, and Mr. David Abrams.

The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) is the New York affiliate of the National Association for Music Education. NYSSMA is a professional organization that evaluates student musicians in New York state from elementary school to high school. Each spring, thousands of students register through their school music programs to attend NYSSMA Evaluation Festivals.
