Dolores Cianciabella Chosen 2016 "Woman of Distinction"

Twelve Women Honored for the Volunteerism and Community Support

DOLORES CIANCIABELLA, of the Women's Club of Farmingdale, was chosen as the 2016 17th Assembly District "Woman of Distinction." Dolores raised 3 children while earning a teaching degree at Hofstra Univ. and became a Kindergarten teacher for the Farmingdale School District. She completed an Early Childhood Masters' Degree at Adelphi Univ. She traveled all over the world to learn about education in other countries, incl. China. She volunteers at bingo night, taqught pre-K religion classes, worked in a Grandparent Program for Head Start, volunteers at St. Joseph's Hospital, joined the WCF inb 1980; created a reading program at the local library for 5-6 year olds, continues to read to nursery school children, held numerous positions in the WCF and GFWC-NY board, chaired a local Art in the Park Festival, which raised over $2,000 for an art award to a local high school art student, belongs to a book club, plays bridge and is the liaison between the WCF and the Junior League of the WCF. CONGRATULATIONS, DOLORES!!
