Don Lemon Visits Farmingdale State College For Black History Month

FARMINGDALE, NY — Don Lemon of CNN visited Farmingdale State College on Tuesday afternoon, kicking off the college's celebration of Black History Month, the school announced.

Lemon, a television journalist, discussed his hard-fought rise in broadcast news as "one of the most prominent African-American and gay men in journalism today," the college stated.

Lemon discussed engagement and activism, as well as the battle of political and economic power and control, according to the college.

"Relatable and charismatic, Lemon’s award-winning work defies genre, candidly exposing injustice and the resiliency of the human spirit," the college wrote. "This Q&A session captures the importance of journalism in tumultuous times."
