FARMINGDALE, NY — A Toyota Highlander driver escaped injury after slamming into the back of a cement truck as it was going over the rail road crossing on Merritts Road in Farmingdale 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, authorities said.

The driver was arrested and charged with DWI, the Nassau County Police Department told Patch, though the driver wasn't named due to computer issues NCPD P.I.O. was having.

Farmingdale firefighters removed debris from the tracks and applied speedy dry to a fluid spill.
