East Meadow Football Jets Past Dalers, 49-0

Without throwing a single pass the Jets were able to put up 49 points and shut down the Dalers offense for the entire game.
“Our guys played their buts off,” East Meadow Head Coach Vincent Mascia said. “It was a great team effort. Our offensive line was great from tight end to the tackle. Our quarterback acted like a real general out there and our defense was great running to the ball every play.”

Turning Point
Already trailing by eight, Farmingdale had the ball moving in the air on the opening drive with three completed passes by quarterback Dalique Mingo. The drive got Farmingdale into East Meadow territory, but the Jets defense buckled down and forced Farmingdale to punt. The Jets then completed a 98-yard touchdown drive that started their scoring frenzy.

Key Stat
East Meadow ran for a total of 318 yards and had five rushing touchdowns in the first half alone.
Star of the Game
Robbie Healy was the stand out player again for East Meadow with 183 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Healy capped off his day with a 42-yard run that set up East Meadow’s fifth score of the day, a five-yard run by fullback Billy Andrle.
“He is a special kid and he makes people miss,” Mascia said.
Healy has been helped out by an overpowering offensive line that has been able to open up large holes for Healy to run threw and break free.
“We hit hard, get low and have great coaching,” Jets Lineman and Captain Dom Morales said. “Every time I look up I see Healy down the field, he is great to block for.”
Bottom Line
After the young Daler team had trouble against East Meadow. means that Farmingdale could be in a rebuilding phase.
“There is a lot we would do different in the game,” Farmingdale coach Buddy Krumenacker said.
After two victories, this Jets team seems to be poised for a big season and they have asserted themselves as one of the top teams in Nassau County.
Both teams will be in action on Sept. 24. Farmingdale will travel take on Hempstead at 1:30 p.m. and East Meadow will return home for their homecoming and host Valley Stream Central at 1 p.m.
