Elderly Woman Hit By Garbage Truck In Farmingdale

FARMINGDALE, NY — An elderly woman was hit by a garbage truck Friday morning in Farmingdale, the Nassau County Police Department said.

The woman, 68, was hit by the truck when it was turning right westbound on Fulton Street and Main Street around 6:30 a.m., detectives said. The woman's head was injured, and she was brought to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The driver of the truck remained at the scene, police said.

Detectives are investigating.
