Farmingdale Elementary School Students Dress Up As Their Favorite Characters to Promote Literacy and Public Speaking

The library recently came to life as Farmingdale School District first grade students at Albany Avenue Elementary School shared their love of reading by dressing up as their favorite literary characters and putting on spirited performances for their parents, classmates and teachers. Students wore homemade wigs and costumes and performed skits to explain the plot of some of their favorite stories. This fun-filled event is part of a Farmingdale School District program to encourage students to develop a love of reading and help them feel at ease with public speaking.
