Farmingdale Firefighters Help Deliver Baby Girl

The girl was born in an ambulance with help from firefighters. "We welcome our newest Farmingdale resident!" Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A baby girl was brought into the world with help from the Farmingdale Fire Department, according to the village.

Makaley was born to Sean and Gina Murphy in Ambulance #9299 on Wednesday night.

The parents received help from Farmingdale Fire Department Medic Phil LoNigro and crew, EMTs Ryan Hunt, Robert Warshauer, Dimitri Examilotis and firefighter Justin Rogus. The firefighters were lead by Chiefs Michael Tortoso and Matthew Hammond.

Baby Makeley and Gina are set to be released from the hospital on Friday.

"Once again; our Fire Department proves why they are known as the Daler Pride!" Farmingdale Village Mayor Ralph Ekstrand said in a news release. "We welcome our newest Farmingdale resident!"
