Farmingdale Home Engulfed By Fire That Started In Shed

FARMINGDALE, NY — A Farmingdale home went ablaze early Friday morning after the fire started in the shed, according to officials.

Bethpage Fire — Engine 44 & Ladder 4 responded to the Hampshire Drive home, where the fire had already entered the house and was spreading. The department called it "heavy fire conditions."

Engines 44 and 5 took the first lines and knocked the fire down and worked their way through the house, while engine 77 used a third line to knock the flames down, all while protecting the exposed house next door.

The people living in the home got out in time without any injuries.

One firefighter suffered a minor ankle injury.
