Farmingdale HS, Howitt Middle School Students Get Coronavirus

FARMINGDALE, NY — One student each at Farmingdale High School and Howitt Middle School have tested positive for the coronavirus, the school district was told Thursday.

The district has since been in contact with the Department of Health, Superintendent Paul Defendini told the community in a letter.

"The students in question were never in close contact with any student or staff in the building
during the period of time where the student could have transmitted the virus to others," he wrote.

In-person learning will continue as scheduled as a result, Defendini said.
