Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due To Coronavirus

FARMINGDALE, NY — Farmingdale Village's annual Memorial Day Parade and ceremony were canceled due to the coronavirus, the Village announced. The Farmingdale Fire Department will have a private ceremony on the Village Green.

In addition, the Farmingdale Fire Department Spring Street Fair / Medieval History Day, scheduled for June 6, as well as other annual summer events such as Farmingdale Village Concert Pops, Movies On The Green and Music On Main, were also axed.

Village Officials are planning increased outdoor dining capacity along Main Street downtown for Friday and Saturdays this summer when permitted in the phased re-opening of businesses, according to guidelines presented by New York State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Nassau County.

The Farmer's Market run by Schneider's Farm will return to the Farmingdale Village Green on Sundays, starting June 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, with social distancing.
